What are DCB0129 and DCB0160?

DCB0129 is an NHS England standard requiring manufacturers of health IT systems to apply clinical risk management throughout design, development, and maintenance — including appointing a Clinical Safety Officer, maintaining a Hazard Log, and producing Clinical Safety Case Reports. DCB0160 is the companion standard placing equivalent obligations on healthcare organisations that deploy and operate these systems. Both manufacturer and deployer bear independent clinical safety responsibilities.
