What is the difference between a shared care record and an Electronic Patient Record (EPR)?

A shared care record aggregates information from multiple organisations (GP, acute, community, mental health, social care) into a single read-only view for clinicians. An EPR is the system of record used for active clinical documentation within a single organisation. The shared care record provides a view of data from multiple systems but does not replace the source systems.
