What is digital health?
Digital health is the use of digital technologies to improve health and the delivery of care. It spans a broad range of tools and practices, including telemedicine consultations, electronic health records, wearable devices, remote patient monitoring, and the analysis of health data to support clinical decisions.
Rather than being a single technology, digital health is best understood as a shift in how healthcare is organised and delivered: information moves with the patient, care can happen at a distance, and decisions are increasingly informed by data. The Handbook of Digital Health explores these themes in depth, from foundational concepts to practical implementation.
